Mr. Holzheu has specialized in the analysis and characterization of inorganic cementitious and supplementary cementitious construction materials He is proficient in the application of X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), bench chemistry and thermogravimetric methods. Mr. Holzheu was instrumental in preparing Chemistry of Concrete to becoming AASHTO certified for R18 and the chemical testing of construction materials.

Thomas Holzheu graduated from the University of Applied Sciences Munich in Engineering Physics with a major in Microsystems Engineering in April 2000. His final thesis at the TUM/Siemens Corporate Technology Division involved the material characterization of Langasite (La3Ga5SiO14) by various X-ray transmission topography and High resolution X-ray diffraction methods. He continued his research with Siemens Corporate Technology on novel single crystal materials for high temperature Surface Acoustic Wave applications until February 2001. Mr. Holzheu joined the staff of CAMET Research, Inc. in March 2001 and became partner in Chemistry of Concrete in December 2002.
